Search

Find anything instantly, then work with the results directly.

Press Esc anywhere to open search. As you type, your document filters in real time to show only matching nodes, including any text inside their note fields. Close search and you're back to the full document.

You can edit content directly in the search results without navigating away. This is useful when you want to work through a list of related items, like all nodes tagged #waiting or all open todos across a project.

Filtering

Alongside text search, you can filter by type, tag, date, completion status, and more. Filters can be applied by clicking the buttons in the search bar or by typing them as keywords. You can combine them freely. Text plus a tag plus a date range, for instance.

Searching within a section

If you zoom into a node before searching, results are limited to that node only. This is helpful in a large document when you know roughly where something is and want to search within that area rather than across everything.

Starred searches

Any search can be starred and saved as a shortcut in your sidebar. Starred searches always reflect current results, so they work well as persistent views: all open tasks, everything tagged #waiting, this week's meetings.

Tip: You can exclude terms from a search by prefixing them with a minus sign. Searching `#task -#done` shows everything tagged #task that isn't also tagged #done.
