# When to use

**Keyboard Shortcuts** in Workflowy let you navigate, edit, and reorganize your outline faster - all without taking your hands off the keyboard. Use combos like **Alt/Option + →/←** to zoom in or out, **Alt + Shift + ↑/↓** to move bullets up or down, **Ctrl + ? / Cmd + ?** to show the full shortcuts list, and many more built‑in commands that make working in deep, nested lists feel effortless. (You can also enable the shortcut panel under Settings.)

Note: If two keys are separated by a slash, the first key is for Windows, the second one if for Mac - `win/mac`

### Navigation & Zoom

### Expand / Collapse

**Indent** `Tab`
**Indent alternative** `Alt` + `Shift` + `→`
**Outdent** `Shift` + `Tab`
**Outdent alternative** `Alt` + `Shift` + `←`**Expand/collapse all items on the same level** (zoom into the parent item, then put your cursor on it) `Ctrl/⌘` + `↓/↑`

### Move Items

**Move up** `Alt/Ctrl`+ `Shift` + `↑`
**Move down** `Alt/Ctrl` + `Shift` + `↓`

### Editing & Formatting

**Add a note** `Shift` + `Enter`
**Complete** `Ctrl/⌘` + `Enter`
**Duplicate** `Alt/⌘` + `Shift` + `D`
**Delete** `Ctrl/⌘` + `Shift` + `Backspace`
**Mirror** `Alt/⌘` + `Shift` + `M`
**Copy link** `Alt/⌘` + `Shift` + `L`
**Link selected text** `Ctrl/⌘` + `K`
**Bold** `Ctrl/⌘` + `B`
**Italic** `Ctrl/⌘` + `I`

### Search & Visibility

**Search** `Esc`
**Show/hide completed** `Ctrl` + `o`
